Moringa thalipeeth material

  • 1½ cups fresh moringa leaves (drumstick)
  • 1½ cup of ragi (finger millet) flour
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil, to pour a little top
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon washed urad dal
  • 1 teaspoon gram lentils
  • 2-3 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp white mole
  • Taste salt
  • 1-2 dry red chili, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • To serve coconut sauce
  • To serve jaggery
  • 1. Prepare Tadka

    Heat sesame oil in a non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds, urad dal and gram dal and fry till it becomes light golden. Then turn off the gas and keep it aside.

    2. Prepare the dough
    Take ragi flour in a large bowl. Add green chillies, white sesame, salt, dry red chillies, onion and fresh moringa leaves to it. Now add prepared tempering to it and mix it well.

    3. Knead dough

    Now add about ½ cup of lukewarm water and knead soft dough. Keep in mind that the dough is not too wet, it should be light soft so that the plate spreads well.

    4. Make Thalipith
    Place non-stick griddle on gas. Take a part of the dough with a wet hand and spread it on the pan and make it like a thin tikki. Make some small holes in it and put some oil in those holes and around.

    5. Cook
    Now cook it on medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Then turn over and bake for 1-2 minutes on the other side. Similarly, make the rest of the thalipeeths.

    6. Serve

    Serve hot plate with coconut chutney and jaggery. If you want, you can also eat with curd or pickle.
