Ingredients
- Gourd (grated) – 1 cup
- Besan – 1 cup
- Green chili (finely chopped) – 1
- Ginger (grated) – 1 teaspoon
- Green Coriander – 2 tablespoons (finely chopped)
- Turmeric Powder – 1/4 teaspoon
- Red chili powder – 1/4 teaspoon
- Celery – 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt – as per taste
- Water – as per need
- Oil – to bake
Step 1: Prepare Gourd
Wash and peel the gourd thoroughly and then grate it. If you feel that there is too much water in the gourd, then press the excess water by pressing it lightly. Keep in mind that squeezing more can also remove its nutrition, so it is okay to have a little moisture.
Take a mixing bowl and add gram flour to it. Now add grated gourd, green chillies, ginger, green coriander, turmeric, red chili, celery and salt. Now add water to it and mix the batter well. The batter is neither too thin nor too thick, that is so much that it spreads easily on the pan.
Step 3: Bake Cheela
2. Now take a bitter batter and pour it on the pan and spread it in round shape.
4. Now turn the cheela and bake it till it becomes crisp from the other side.
Step 4: Serve
Your healthy and tasty gourd cheela is ready. Serve hot with green chutney, tomato sauce or curd.

Some special tips
Mixing onion, spinach or fenugreek in the cheela can increase both its taste and nutrition. Adding a little chaat masala or kasuri fenugreek will provide extra flavor. Make it small in children’s tiffin, so that they can easily eat. Use kuttu flour and rock salt to make it favorable to fast in the fast.
