  • Besan – 1 cup

  • Turmeric Powder – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Celery – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt – as per taste
  • Water – as per need
  • Oil – to bake
Method of making gourd cheela step by step process

Step 1: Prepare Gourd
Wash and peel the gourd thoroughly and then grate it. If you feel that there is too much water in the gourd, then press the excess water by pressing it lightly. Keep in mind that squeezing more can also remove its nutrition, so it is okay to have a little moisture.

Step 2: Prepare the batter

Take a mixing bowl and add gram flour to it. Now add grated gourd, green chillies, ginger, green coriander, turmeric, red chili, celery and salt. Now add water to it and mix the batter well. The batter is neither too thin nor too thick, that is so much that it spreads easily on the pan.

Step 3: Bake Cheela

1. Heat nonstick griddle and add a little oil.

2. Now take a bitter batter and pour it on the pan and spread it in round shape.

3. Cover and cook on low flame for 2-3 minutes, so that it shrinks well.

4. Now turn the cheela and bake it till it becomes crisp from the other side.

5. When both become golden from the side, take it out.
