What do you need for cleaning
Toothbrush or any small scrub brush
Baking soda
Snowfall
Dishwashing liquid
Hot water
1. Close power supply first
Stop its power supply before cleaning the garbage disposal. Either remove it from the socket or turn off the breaker with the main switch. This is the most important safety step. Never skip it.
The disposable unit contains a rubber guard called a splash guard or a gasket. Remove it and clean it well with the help of soap and brush. The surface inside it often accumulates a sticky substance or food.
3. Remove the visible waste
With the help of the flashlight, look inside the disposal and if you see some stuck things, then take them out with the help of plass or tweezers. Keep in mind that do not put your hands at all.
4. Clean the blade with ice and salt
Put ice inside the disposal and add a cup of thick salt over it. Then run cold water and turn on the disposal for 15 seconds. This makes the blades clean and removes the frozen dirt.
Add half a cup of baking soda to the disposal and then slowly add a cup of white vinegar. Foam will start coming out of it. Leave it like this for 10 to 15 minutes. Then wash it thoroughly by stirring hot water.
6. Add lemon or orange peel
For a good fragrance, cut lemon or orange peels into small pieces and put it in the disposal one by one and turn on the unit while stirring cold water. This will smell from inside and freshness will remain.

7. Finally rinse with warm water once
To remove everything and give a final touch to cleanliness, run hot water for one minute so that all cleaning agents and remaining garbage are removed.
If you use Garbage Disposal daily, then do this kind of deep cleaning once a week. This will not smell and the machine will also run well for years.
Some special tips
Avoid chemical cleaners: No need to use expensive cleaners. Household items like baking soda, vinegar and lemon are more safe and effective.
