The right time to grow parwal
Parwal is a plant grown in summer. You can apply it at any time from the end of February to April. It is a vine vegetable which grows rapidly in summer and moist weather. In areas where it does not get too cold, it can be grown throughout the year.
The loam soil is considered to be the best for Parwal, which is slightly sandy and which has drainage facility. Moisture should remain in the soil but water should not accumulate. If your soil is heavy, then add cow dung manure, cocopet and sand and lighten it. With this, the air will pass in the soil and the roots will be able to spread well.
How to grow parwal- start with cutting
Parwal grows less than seeds and better than cutting. Instead of extracting seeds from the ripe fruit of Parwal present in the market or house, you take cutting from the old vine branch. Cut a branch with 8-10 inches long and 3-4 nodes. Dry these cuttings in shade for a few hours and then apply it in a pot or gro bag.

If you are putting parwal in the garden, then choose an open space where there is at least 5-6 hours of sunlight. You can take a large growth of 18 to 24 inches to grow in pots. Keep in mind that to offer the vine, give a mesh or wire support.
Take care of manure and irrigation
Parwal requires a lot of nutrition to grow. Add vermicompost or cow dung manure every 15 days. Sprinkle neem cake or neem oil to protect against mosquitoes and insects. Give water 2-3 times a week but avoid more water.
Parwal vine spreads rapidly, so give it direction from time to time. Make a trailis or bamboo network to offer the vine upwards. It is necessary to stop the vine from getting entangled or spreading on the ground so that the fruits come well.
Pest control and prevention of diseases
Diseases like red fly, white fly and powdery mildew can often occur on the parwal. For them, home -made neem spray or soap water can sprinkle light solution. Removing insects with hand is also effective by looking carefully under the leaves.

If you apply Parwal in February-March, then till May-June, fruits start coming in it. Once the fruit comes, it continues to produce for several months. The fruit should be broken before cooking so that the plant continues to give fruits.
Some important tips
Apply Parwal on a high sunny place. To spread the vine, support lattice or bamboo.
