Giloy needs to grow
- Giloy’s strong cutting (stalk 6-8 inches long)
- A large pot or gro bag (10-12 inches deep)
- Nice soil (garden soil, cow dung manure, a little sand)
- Coconut rope
- Water
- Sunshine
1. Prepare cutting
First of all, cut a stalk of about 6-8 inch from a healthy and old Giloy Bell. There should be at least 2 to 3 lumps in this stalk because new roots will come out from there.
Add 50% garden soil, 30% cow dung manure and 20% sand to a pot. This mixture is very important for good growth of Giloy.
3. Apply Cutting
Now press the stalk of Giloy in the prepared soil to one inch depth. Apply the stalk slightly so that it can easily catch the root.

For the first time, give a little more water so that the soil sits well. After this, keep giving light water every two days.
5. Give sun and support
Giloy loves light sunlight. Keep the pot in a place where sunlight can be found for 4-5 hours. Also Giloy is a vine, so it will need a support to climb.
Do not give too much water, only give water as per need. You can add cow dung or vermi compost every 15 days. If the vine starts spreading, keep supporting it from time to time. Neem water can be sprinkled to protect against pests.
When and how to use Giloy
After 3-4 months, when the vine spreads well, you can cut and use its stalk. You can make a decoction by boiling its stalk. Its juice can be taken out on an empty stomach. Giloy powder can also be made by drying in the house.
